4-Step Process for Creating Instagram Reels

Instagram Reels can be a great way to grow on Instagram. Instagram has revealed that they are really investing their time into making video experience better on the platform because that is the content people are driven to. People spend time on Instagram to be entertained and in the format of video.

 

If you’re leveraging Instagram for your social media marketing, I’m sure you’ve asked how you can start leveraging video and Instagram Reels to grow your account and convert your audience to customers.

❌ How many times have you said, “I should create more Reels”… and then continued to scroll Instagram Reels or TikTok for hours instead of putting your own awesomeness into action?

❌ How many Reels have you started and then trashed them because you weren’t sure if they were good enough?

❌ How many times have thought you could create more Reels, but you’re not sure how to relate it to what you do?

If you’re like me, and millions us out there driven to Instagram and spending a lot of time (I hate to admit, probably hours) watching Reels, but not quite sure how it can work for you, I have a 4-step process that will get you out of consumption and learning, and into action! Are you ready?

Step 1 - Intentional Consuming

You need to get inspired! And there is only 1 way I know how to do that, and that is to see what audio and video formats fit your style. BUT, we do not want to make the mistake of just scrolling and liking for hours and still not be able to take the next step. So while we are scrolling IG Reels for hours, go into it with a mindset of “How can this work for my business”?

For any Instagram Reels that look like they will be a good fit, start a digital note and start tracking:

✅ Save the Instagram Reel to your Instagram “Saves”

✅ Copy the link to the Instagram Reel to the digital note

✅ Copy the Audio link used in the Instagram Reel to the digital note

✅ Write any ideas that come to mind as you watched it, why you liked it or how you can envision converting it for your business

Repeat this process until you have enough ideas tracked (3-5). And then put your phone away for the night. We want this process to remain fun, and the best way to do that is to break this out into different steps over a couple of days as you have time!
